Nina watched the fight unfold in a blur of movement. Then, her fury relit by her remembrance of what almost was, she charged forward unseen, her clenched fist plunging into the side of the nearest orc's head.
Momentarily stunned by the unexpected impact, the orc stumbled sideways and Nina caught him in the side with her foot, sending him sprawling on the ground. Powering her staff in her hand, she flung a ball of fiery energy into the orc's chest, instantly killing him.
She turned to meet an oncoming orc, who appeared completely baffled by the invisible force that had massacred his companion. Realizing the ease with which she could dispatch the idiotic orcs, Nina let her invisibility shield drop just long enough to wink at the stunned orc, then, swinging her staff around, she hurled an icy blue blast from its tip, splitting the orc open straight across his stomach.
Suddenly, she felt something cold sting her back. She stumbled forward in sheer agony as the cold dug into her flesh, just missing her spine. Clutching her staff, she fell to her knees and dug its tip into the earth. Her eyes glazed over as she poured her energy into the staff. The ground shook violently, breaking the orc magi's concentration just long enough for Nina to stand and face her attacker.
