YAY I'm glad it went well for you.
Always important with stuff like this to consider your s/o's personality and taste.
I tend to get embarassed easily and a guy I went out with in high school was doing a performance in front of a crowd of 200 people or so. He was singing a song from "Phantom of the Opera" and came down into the audience and sang it to me (made me stand up).
Very sweet, very romantic, but embarassed the hell out of me.
