Anyways, yeah, Half Life is good but personally, i wouldn't buy it now, you might be dissapointed 'cause it's about 4 years old. Wait 4 more months for Half Life 2 on March 1st instead.

Sierra is the
publisher, they published NOLF, and HL
Valve is the
developer that made Half-Life
Monolith Studios (I believe is the name) is a
developer that made NOLF and NOLF2.
Neither have anything in common, except they use the same publisher.

Might wanna list the fact that there's a big rumor going around that Half-Life 2's multiplayer (probably Counter-Strike 2) will most likely be pay-by-the-month. It's not confirmed, but highly likely.

All I know is the Steam Subscription service is around $13 / month.
This is where you pay monthly, and get all free updates, and any games made by Valve that ever come out on Steam.
Of course you will be able to buy HL2 in stores for $50-60 (SP + MP, and a "Deluxe" Edition) where you pay a one time fee, and get HL2, and only HL2 games, mods, and features.
I haven't heard anything (aside from rumors) about paying monthly for the actual online play, whether you buy it in a store, or through a steam subscription service.
If they did, I think either one of these would occur:
---> They would make a TON of money, since HL is still the most played game (thanks to CS). HL2 may surely follow in its footsteps.
---> People may be turned down by the idea and say "screw paying monthly" and just not play online. Why would they pay for a monthly MP fee when they can just play Evercrack?
Who knows.
