I have a damn near complete Linksys network,(router, print server, nics) and have enjoyed it. I wanted to go wireless, but my budget said wait. I also wanted to stay with Linksys.
I bit the bullet, and despite some reviews I read, I bought the Linksys 2.4 router and card for my notebook. It installed quickly, and worked fine for about twenty minutes. It took a dump, and now I have to rma the unit.
Pay heed to reviews. Stay away from the Linksys WRT54G. I read that the problems were gone and the firmware upgrade cured all ills. Not true. This thing is a poorly made dog.
