Headphones equal better listening quality for me as well. All the little things just escape you without the music source right next to your ears. This has nothing to do with the quality of the sound, but when I'm at my computer with headphones I find myself looking over my shoulder and pausing the music all the time because I can't hear what's going on with my back to my door. So during the day with people busy in the house, I always go with the speakers.
