Two of the studios that I've been doing work for over the last couple of years are Pioneer (Geneon) and Bandai, so I've become more of a fan of anime the more I watch.
Some recent series I've very much enjoyed are:
Witch Hunter Robin
Last Exile (probably my new favorite series ever)
Haibane-Renmei
L/R:Licensed by Royalty (GREAT soundtrack)
Captain Herlock
Heat Guy J was okay, but too oriented on action and not enough on story for me.
