Wwcd101 is right. Good men as leaders breed goodness from followers. Jim Tressel is so squeaky clean its almost annoying.
From what I understand, the players feel they were mediating a dispute and not the original offenders. The situation got out of hand, and they crossed the line to a point where charges can be brought.
I will never blame a coach for individual player discretions - coaches are not babysitters. I will blame a coach for not showing moral leadership themselves (Nolan Richardson III), or when coaches have problems within the program itself (Jerry Tarkanian).
EDIT: And disorderly conduct? I'd be willing to bet that more of us than not have been faced with disorderly conduct. You apologize to a judge, then go clean up the freeway for three hours. This would be a non-story if it happened elsewhere.
