Just like any other state that is large, there are many areas of Oklahoma. Around Oklahoma City you will not see mountains. Ninety miles to the south are the Arbuckle Mountains which are actually older than the Appalaichian Mountains. In the southeast part of the state are the extension of the Ozarks. We are not talking large mountains here. Most are of an older geological age and are pretty well worn down. If you have been to northern Alabama to the foothills of the Appalaichian Mts, then you will know what parts of the state look like.
