I'm a big-time pessimist. The way I see it, if you look at everything negatively, then you're never let down. It also makes happy things much, much more enjoyable.
Example: "There's a chance of school being cancelled due to ice!"
I'll accept that it's not going to happen. That way, if it doesn't happen, I don't care...and if it does, my day just got 300% better.
Or a hyped-up videogame: "This game is supposed to be the game of the year!"
It will suck until it comes out and proves otherwise. If it does end up sucking, I won't be surprised, and if it turns out to be awesome, then I'll love it even more.
