I know this could easily be under Tilted Sports, but I wanted to get some opinions on the whole Raiders-steroids situation. Let me first say I am a huge Raiders fan and I'm deeply saddened by this.
I have been involved in fitness/nutrition for the past 15 years (i.e., training, studying and helping others) and I have never liked the idea of a high profile athlete, wether bodybuilder or another professional sport, endorsing supplements. First they are not the "average joe" (I'm not gonna get sued for using that now that its a TV show
). Second, they have more people to help them on a daily basis then you or I could shake a stick at. The time and money they can put in to get the great results advertised is unbelievable.
With that said, what does this whole Romanoski-steroids issue say about sports supplements? First he was with EAS, then he changed to Vita-something and now he is testing positive for steroids. What gives? And does this let us know how "great" all the supplements really are? So, what is your take on this topic? Are supplements worth the hype?
I know the importance of protein and amino acids, but how far do we have to go?
