Using the electric, I just get stubble, so I used a Silk Effects (new blade) razor in the shower, and that got rid of the stubble but now my skin is all red and bumpy. I've been following all the advice - scrubbing to get rid of ingrowns, putting vaseline on it - but hell this looks awful! I have sensitive skin to start with - is it just a matter of time till my skin gets used to it? It's only been a few days. Much more of this and I'm just letting it grow back!

Some people always get red bumps, but some people get used to it. I'd wait longer to see if things begin to change (it took me a few months).
Edit: Make sure your razor is nice and sharp. If you're not sure, get a new one. Also, make sure your shaving cream/lather is non-comedogenic and has nothing in it you're reacting to.
