Koorittou stood horrified as he looked on at Serendice laying bloodied on the snowcovered grounds.

Seconds after he had uttered the words to Matt about being able to save her, she now seemed to be dead.

'Serendice,' Koorittou thought 'Why did it have to end like this. Why did your beauty have to fade from this Earth. For what purpose?'

All seemed lost for Serendice, at this moment, to Koorittou. Or was it? Koorittou joined Matt as they both traversed the field at top speed to join the dying Serendice
