Pirate radio stations are taking money from the real radio stations. The people around c.Joe's house can't get the legitimate station either, which means they're losing market share, which means they're losing advertising dollars. AND they're paying for the FCC license.
There's no excuse for pirate radio. If you have a message you want to get out there, go to school, learn the business, and get a show. Hell you can even do a show down at your community access cable station if you want, and you'll probably reach more people than you will with the piece of crap transmitter you managed to pull out of the junkyard. Or get a net radio show - there are lots of "stations" looking for talent, and some of them will take just about anyone.
Point is, you can get your message out without interfering with legitimate stations. Try it, you might like it.
