As the two great warriors continued their conversation, unannounced to them a new warrior had entered through the gate of the castle.
This new warrior was covered in a brown hooded cloak, which was apparently worn and battered from travel. This cloak hid all of the warrior's features from view, but his status as a warrior was apparent because the bottom of a sheath lsightly petruded from underneath his cloak.
Upon entering the castle gate, the warrior turned to the first gaurd and asked "May I gain entrance to this castle kind sir?"
The guard responded "Only if you can defeat our new champion." nodding his head to the right, drawing the warrior's attention to the new champion standing ready to fight in the courtyard.
The new champion stood nearly seven feet tall, with long disheveled hair and a beard to match. His weapon of choice was a double bladed ax equal in size to his own height, and he sported only heavy armor on his right shoulder and thighs. The rest of his body was covered in elk hides and dark brown leather.
"You challenge me?" the champion asked, laughing, as he pointed at the new warrior. "You is to small to fight Bareth..."
For being so stupid, the champion was partially correct. The new warrior stood only about 5 feet 7 inches tall and the frame he bore underneath his cloak appeared to be frale.
"Very well then.." the new warror said lowering his hood, revealing his face for the first time. "If thats what it takes to gain entrance to this castle, I will fight."
The warrior appeared to be of elvish descent, judging by his facial features. He had slightly pointed ears and a slightly upturned nose. He had red triangular markings at the corners of both of his eyes and slightly above the area between his eyebrows. His hair was dirty blonde color and lay shaggily on his head, covering his forehead and some of his ears. The warrior's most noteable feature though were his soft grey eyes, that eminated warmth and understanding.
Without even removing his cloak the warrior stepped forward to meet his new opponent. Bareth smiled menacingly and took the first move. He lunged towards the elvish warrior and brought his ax down with tremendous force.
The elvish warrior dodged the attack effortlessly and seemed to almost dissapear for a moment, reappearing standing on the hunched over back of his enemy. Drawing his sword, the elvish warrior brought the butt of the sword's handle down on the back of Bareth's neck in one fell swoop. That's all it took.
Bareth fell to the ground like an enormous tree falling in a forest. As he fell, the warrior jumped off his back with ease and landed on the ground near the guard. Sheathing his sword, the warrior looked up at the gaurd with his warm grey eyes and asked "Am I allowed in the castle now?"
The guard looked at the young warrior in utter shock, and could only nod a yes in reply.
"Thank you" the warrior said in a gracious tone with a slight smile.
And with this, he returned the hood of his cloack back over his head, and walked to a nearby wall. Where he leaned his back up against it and slid down until he was seated quietly.
