In graduate school my year had four classes. You would stay in your class with your classmates for the entire year. You go to know your classmates really well.
Anyway, every Friday the rubber chicken award was given out by the person who had it for the previous week.
The rubber chicken award was given to the person in the class who made the dumbest comment, observation, or screwup during class.
the rubber chicken award served two purposes:
- It helped cut down on people making useless comments just to try to garner participation marks.
- It helped the class relax and unwind after an intense week.
The best part about the rubber chicken was the presentation. The person who had the rubber chicken for the previous week (this person always had to have it with them) made a presentation of the best (i.e. worst) comments of the week ending with the winning (or loosing) comment.
It was a good laugh.
