I haven't installed a driver since XP came out (not counting video drivers). That's where XP shines: plug and play. You put something in your computer and it automatically works...people have been wanting that for 10 years. There's rarely in problems with hardware in XP, but I have to say that if there is a problem, you're usually not going to be able to fix it (if it's a compatibility issue).

Very well put. Especially the plug and play point you make. I am in the same boat as you, the only drivers I installed were the NVIDIA drivers for my Ti4200. XP has crashed on me very few times as well.
