I wouldn't think so...unless they can smell the alchohol on your breath.
I can kind of understand you doing so, to relieve the anxieties you might have before a date.
However, I've always been one to prefer to be sober,
and the enjoyment of the night is clearer.
I usually only drink for the enjoyment of the taste.
The buzz is a nice effect, but I always want to be in control.
The only time I might to it to relax or escape is after a bad day at work with a mellow glass of wine.
When you feel yourself needing it...then is when you think again about it.
