married... almost 2 years.
i'm with lurkette. any relationship takes work.
here's some legal food for thought:
family over comes "boyfriend/girlfriend status" in medical, financial, and legal recourse. meaning: you may not have ANY rights when it comes to living wills, estates, medical visitations or even 401k.
even having different last names has it's challenges, as she's not had to show the marriage certificate just yet, but it has made some bumps in the road for checking into hotels where she leaves me the key at the front desk.
