I use Eucirin (sp?) or the Walmart version of it. I also sometimes use straight Lanolin - you have to ask at the pharmacy desk usually but it doesn't require a prescription. Then put socks on at bedtime. Works wonders also to maintain it - pumic and a slather of cream now and then. My heals get so dry and cracked that they sometimes bleed if I let it go. What I've found helps to begin with when they're really bad is a paddle like file (like sandpaper on it), sand them down a little, good soak in the shower or bath, pumic in the shower, then cream and socks for the night. Another thing to consider - if they are itchy or feel like there's a burning sensation it could partly be caused by Athletes Foot. Look for tiny white or clear bubbles (vesicles) just under the surface of the skin. They look like miniature blisters. That is a surefire sign of Athletes foot (also called ringworm - not a worm) You can use a topical athletes foot cream. Clotrimazole is one of teh cheaper and pretty reliable use for the directed amount of time - don't stop just because things feel better. Another newer good one but VERY expensive is Lamisil. I've found both can be effective. The treatment recommended for Lamisil doesn't take as long if I remember right. Look some stuff up and see for yourself. Otherwise just used a heavy cream and stockings to help heal it.
