Just because the ACLU doesn't interpret the 2nd amendment in the same way as you doesn't mean they are hypocrites, just that they have a different opinion. I could say that since the NRA doesn't defend my right to own a nuclear missle, that they don't properly fight for my right to keep and bear arms.
