A friend of mine has to put some sort of fluid (that really smells) in his rear axel somewhere. but thats kind of a different thread.

Hmmmmmm, there is a really smelly additive that goes in limited slip differentials made out of whale blubber... it keeps the clutches in the rear end from chattering..... as for tranny fluid, changing it helps keep the material that wears off the clutches from plugging up the filter....
