You can talk your dealer into getting you a Mazda6 with the v6 (plenty of power for that sized car) for 20k. Tell him thats your limit, and you want the v6....he'll do it.

Also think about:
Chevy Malibu
Honda Accord
Nissan Altima
Saturn L300
Toyota Camry (used)

All mid-sized cars, can be found new under 20k. Some with less options than other.

If your interested in more options here are some possible and decent smaller cars.
PT Cruiser (i dont like it, some do)
Pontiac Vibe / Toyota Matrix
Toyota Prius....kinda pushes the price though.
Mazda Protoge
VW jetta/golf with little options.

There are a ton of options other than those three you listed that, frankly, will be better options. They will most likely drive better, feel better, and last longer. There are better options from more reliable import brands available. Those are a few cars to think about if you aren't dead set on your options. If you wont budge from your pre-selected few, go test drive them. Take a test drive and get the one that feels and drives that best. All three of those will have decent warranties, so i wouldn't really let that be the deciding factor.
