Arrrggghhhh... If the cops can use less than lethal force, wouldn't it be worth training, preparing and trying for? Anything less is saying that the life of the mentally ill person isn't valid...we don't cap people who might spread the flu, or other cases where a disease makes someone dangerous. Letting apathy create situations where the police have no option but to shoot is a goddamn human rights violation....
