I'm surprised that a couple people here have mentioned that their spontaneous memories centred around unpleasantness. Kinda glad I'm not the only one. I go out of my way now to put myself in certain places where a smell, song or other reminder won't "intrude".
Oscar perfume is a big no no for me now...as is the smell of rye or rum...
