i have no credit cards and will never get another one. had a discover for a short time. paid it all the time, but then saw that you do indeed spend more with them. i live the Dave Ramsey way....for all that know him usualy know why it works. But ive only got one debt, my student loan, and thats it. dont own a house yet tho. but i will never go in debt for anything but a house. i own both my cars, paid cash for both and will do that again. you can live VERY happily without debt
