Anyone who ever tried to start a small business or the like, very quickly changes their tune. Of course once you REALLY make it and have the millions in the bank you can go back to liberal again since it makes you feel better and no matter how much they tax you, your lifestyle doesn't change

Could you be more condescending?
I know many, many small business owners who continue to hold very liberal ideas about society caring for everyone, not just for those lucky enough to have enough money to take care of everything themselves (or those children lucky enough to have parents with enough money).
I also know many older people who have "tried to get ahead on their own" and done quite well at it, thanks, and have maintained leftist economic ideals.
Sweeping generalization and "pat pat" condescension do very little to further the cause of mutual political understanding. But perhaps you are more interested in feeling superior than in people understanding each other's sincerely held political views?
