I'm in charge of Operations for 3 Internet-related companies. I do it from home when I choose to do it from home. I go into the office when I choose to do that. A lot of new technology tasks can be done by telecommuting.

There are, however, sometimes reasons why face time is important and the human factors that affect morale have some significance in collaborative projects.
