Ive actually been using this as part of my codec pack for a while now. With the newer releases if you remove the check from ffdshow then you should not have any problems. It causes a conflict with another codec in the same pack and can cause problems. This is what I have always done after a fresh format:

Follow the steps below on how to properly install
the DivX Software to fix all DivX & XviD problems
including the infamous "Green Screen".

1. Uninstall all DivX and XviD Software & Codecs.

2. Reboot your system.

3. Install the DivX Software.

4. Install the Nimo Codec Pack.

-First under the DirectShow Filters, uncheck
"Ffdshow DirectShow".

-Then hit "Next" until installation is complete.

5. Install uManiac's XviD Root.

6. Install the SMR Patch.

7. Restart your PC and that should do it...

I have not had any video give me problems since.
