there's a prof at my university who seems to be described as the prof that everyone wants to bang. guys and a fair few girls.
as for TA's, i'm wondering if we're thinking the same thing here, maybe it works differently at bigger universities. but at mine, TA's are just like upper level undergrad students hired to assist the profs in labs and such. but i was a TA in my second year and i was probably only about a 6 months older than some of the kids in the class. and as far as conflict of interest, i didn't have any kind of power so i'm sure it ouldn't have mattered that way. but you must be talking about some other type of TA, cause our kind of TA it would completely make sense to date students.
in my bf's first year philosophy class, the prof passed out a sheet on which there were a bunch of class guidelines, and one of them he kept stressing was that you should not date or flirt with the profs. i heard the prof lived and learned kinda thing. it ended up being the better part of his exam apparently.
