One hundred percent it's better to have loved and lost than not to have discovered the joys of truly loving someone. Yup, it hurts if you lose them but that is part of life.
I would rather ride the rollercoaster and experience the intense highs (along with the equally intense lows) than not.
Loving someone teaches you things about yourself as well....the intimacy you develop with someone and the absolute trust that comes hand in hand with being in love is the best feeling in the world.
Anything worth having also has a price. You just have to be ready to pay the price when the time comes.
