I do this. I have a yahoo account that I give out to every website that requires registration or programs that want you to register. I don't care if spam goes there since I can easily filter it out through Yahoo's Bulk Mail folder. I also have an account here at school which I give out to my friends or the few sites that won't accept free email addresses. THe amount of spam I have gotten at that school account I can count on one hand. And I am not bothered at all since the important stuff goes to my school account while the crap I don't really care about wastes away in Yahoo mail.
ANd if it gets bad you can always set up a different free email account and start all over.
