Only ever saw one other forum and it was a flame-fest. Basically a competition to see who could use the most foul words in one sentence fragment. Personally, I like having the moderators around.
I would be suspicious of any sob story accompanied by a money request. Even if the money wasn't asked for directly, con men know how to hint around and let you think you came up with this wonderfully altruistic idea.
To answer your last question, nothing. It's the sex and porn.
