Sorry - I didn't write it, just found it on the web. If it helps any, here's a Travel & Leisure article that lists Sydney as #1...doesn't say #1 at what, exactly, but it appears to be a reader poll.

I have to say that Sydney's reputation certainly does precede it, but having never visited either city I'm going to have to travel to Australia to make an on-site determination
