All bad. Leaving it to be stolen might leave you with a shortfall from insurance. Sabotaging it might be detected. Filing for bankrupcy kills your credit and faking it won't work. I would say get a second opinion from another lawyer. Your state may be different that others with the 3-day rule. Unfortunately you may just be SOL in this case.
