It was kind of a bonehead thing to do, what with him being a Cubs fan, but I don't think he cost them the game. Ideally he should have yielded to Alou, but its kind of instinctive for people who are diehard fans to grab for a ball as a souvenier. It probably cost them an out, but poor fielding and pitching ultimately cost them the game. That dudes a convenient scapegoat though. I wouldn't want to be in his shoes.
