Kneejerk reaction to a quick glance through this post.
I would also give ascribe more value to the purpose of religion than many have suggested. I don't think most adults use religion as a "moral" guide - I think it is frequently used to put into perspective ones fear of death. Children on the other hand are a different story - I think religion is very effective to instilling a sense of morality in a child. I also think you can trust that these children, as most do - will question everything they've been taught as they go through adolescence and early adulthood, and come to some spiritual ground through contemplation. The morals and values instilled in these children through religion; however, are generally not lost through this rebellion and self-determination.
