I think Harry Truman was far and above anyone who came before, or after. He was thrown into a situation not of his own choosing and was instantly faced with the biggest and far reaching decision ever made by an American president. His decision cut years off WW II and probably saved millions of lives had the war continued with the island to island invasions that had become the modus operandi continued. I don't think anyone since has been able to stand up to the example set by the Man form Missouri. When he said "the buck stops here" it wasn't spin, it was the way he lived.
