Your mom seems to have reached the desperation point. The "petite woman" issue is definately a smokescreen, and I think we can set that aside.
The real question is: why does your mom hate your girlfriend? And, once that is answered, you must ask "is she correct"? Does your mom, with her many years of experience, know that you would be making a mistake? No way for me to tell.
