I don't usually lean towards the sappy/mushy/upbeat poems but here's one that's been niggling at my brain for sometime.
I like big, stupid dogs and walks in the rain,
Talking 'till dawn with nothing to gain.
I like sunshine and roses, ribbons and lace,
I like to meander through life at slow pace.
I like picnics in meadows, the smell of fresh hay,
The way the air feels after raining all day.
I like laughter from children, purrs from a cat,
A wink from a stranger - I like it like that.
I like a good giggle, a tickle and grin,
I like deep hard kisses that make my head spin.
I like long, lingering looks and sleeping in late,
Sipping champagne with a fire in the grate.
I like dewdrops and sunsets, waves on the sand,
I like summer storms and a man with strong hands.
I like secrets and moonbeams, a dance in the dark,
A trip to the zoo or slow walk through the park.
I like watching leaves fall and kittens at play,
Stealing a kiss in the midst of the day.
I like singing out loud, candles and wine,
Waterfalls, lightning and a love to call mine.
I like secret wishes, soft sighs in the night,
Dreams that are made in the fading twilight.
I like walking in moonlight, laughing out loud,
Sharing a joke or just watching a cloud.
I like rose petals, rainbows, birds in the sky,
A bright sunny day, ships sailing by.
I like seashells, windmills and hidden treasure,
A look in your eye that promises pleasure.
I like love at first sight, a candle's soft glow,
Dancing 'till sunrise, angels in snow.
I like sad love songs and the cry of a loon,
shooting stars, campfires, a big Harvest moon.
I like fairie tales, surprises, hearts that are true,
presents with bows, flowers covered in dew.
I like country roads, waterfalls and wishing wells,
snowflakes, sand castles and fragrant bluebells.
I like big, stupid dogs and hearts that are true,
I'd like to take my love and share it with you.
