Manual without a doubt. I do live in a high traffic area (Los Angeles Area) and I commute everyday. These are my many reasons:
1. It is faster
2. More efficient with gas
3. Fun factor
4. You have the power when you need it
5. Cost (extra 1k for auto, and it costs more to fix if it breaks)
6. Also around 90% of Europe drives manual (Lazy Americans j/k)
