I think you are unfair. How can you be angry at an artist for not liking the art that the artist make? You can't demand art to be to your liking. Music is in my opinion art and wether it is good is just in the eyes of the beholder.

When you have music in your genes and soul, who can tell you to stop making music just because you sound differently then 15 years earlier? When it comes to performers touring and playing their old hits it is usually not to screw you on money. If you think so you shouldn't go and see them. There are always hurds of old fans there loving what they see and hear, regardless of the aging that the performers and their sound have gone through.

New material that maybe would suit the aged musicians fingers and voices are not what the public screams for as much as the old hits. They just aim to please their fans to their ability.

I haven't seen Jethru Tull, ever, but I bought the DVD with Blue Oyster Clut with the consert from 2002. That performance was great and I loved it. Surely singing isn't what they do as good as in the early days, but they rocked on the guitars as good as ever. I would not dream of getting pissed off for their weaker voices. You sound differently in your 20's than in your 40's or 50's. That's just natural.

I am thankful that the old and great want to make the big effort, that it must be later in life, to give us their art. Because when they perform it is more than music. It is history, nostalgy and great memories that they bring to us.

Keep Rocking!!!
