Yes, it is a place to express one's opinion, but to also be respectful of others opinions. There are other people on the other side of the line that are reading your comments. Read: PEOPLE. They have feelings.
Flaming is an attack on another person, with disregard for their feelings, or to hurt another persons feelings. I don't know about you, but I'm not about to go up to a conservative and say to their face that their political views are stupid. I'll comment on why I think their political views are wrong and I'll be respectful the whole time and I'll hope the same in return.
