"Waking Life" (movie) has a lot of fun with these phenomenons.
As for lucid dreaming, I've long had experiences where I realized I was dreaming but couldn't control anything. So one time I realized I was dreaming and was very determined to exort some sort of influence, and ended up jedi pushing/pulling on people just walking by. Knocked a lotta people down... with my mind! That was funny.
