I recently bought "The Roald Dahl Omnibus" from the B&N bargain aisle for $9.98, and I can safely say that's the best tenner I've spent in a while. I've always loved his children's books, but the short stories in this collection blow them out of the water.
All the stories have a very noir-ish quality to them, coupled with Dahl's style of edgy, self-parodying banter. Highly recommended to anyone who likes a big book of short stories.
p.s. any other Dahl fans here? outside of his children's books, that is
p.p.s. an omnibus is an anthology of one author's stories, not an all-knowing public transit vehicle :D
