That was the best article I have read since this whole piracy thing started, and I have been talking about the costs incurred with replacing Cassettes and Vinyl to CD's for awhile now. When I bought the Cassettes or Records I paid for the right to own that music in any format I choose to listen to:
"I basically replaced all my vinyl records and cassette tapes with CDs, and then replaced all our VHS tapes and laserdiscs with DVDs. The record companies and studios would have laughed if somebody said, "This is just an upgrade. I should be able to turn in my vinyl and cassettes for CDs and my videotapes for DVDs, for no more than the actual cost of production."
And I hate to beat a dead horse, but Metallica and the Dr.Dre's and all the other piracy advocate bands need to read that article.
