For the clock chime, I think it's 14. If six seconds elapse between the first chime and the last, there is one every 1 and 1/6 second, so it would take 14 seconds to complete 12 chimes.

17800 in first round, 35200 in second, minus a maximum wager of 1000 if you're in the hole. INo final jeopardy if you're in the hole unless you're playing for charity. 'm not positive on the max bet in the hole, so you might want to double-check it.
And if the rules lawyers want tomess with the most money question, the most a contestant can win is $100,000. Any more than that goes to charity.
Unless other grades are involved, I see no way that dropping the lowest score can hurt the student's grade.
