Actually, you're pretty close.
3Mbps, or three mega-bits per second is, 3,000,000 bits per second. So, dividing this by 8, because there are 8-bits per byte, gives us: 375,000 bytes. Since there are 1,000 bytes per kilobyte, that's
375 kilobytes/second. Or if you wanna get all technical and say there are 1,024 bytes per kilo, it comes out to be about 366 kilobytes/second.
