They are also thought to strain the limits of mortality and immortality; morality and immorality; reason and emotion; order and disorder; mind/body; masculine and feminine. There are certain elements of Gothic literature that appear frequently in Gothic texts; the appearance of the supernatural; the psychology of horror and terror and the significance of the subconscious and dreams. These elements are evident in all three texts.
