OK...we've been through this before. Funny cars and top fuel draggers make 5500-6000hp. Not 10,000+. Also, they don't use transmissions in the typical sense. It's not an automatic, but it's not a manual, either. There are no gears in these cars. The Pro-Stocks use a sequential style kind of thing. I do hate to say this, but yes, automatics do provide a more consistent time. That's all they are good for. If you bracket race, an auto will be to your benefit. But, those are typically lower powered cars. A good driver in a manual, all other things equal, will beat the automatic by a good margin, usually.
