Talking to a man today I learned a precious lesson
Listening to what he said while speaking of his blessing
At first his words were not much heeded
When then I heard one that was needed
He spoke of life and love and travels
He told me how my fears were trammels
His eyes were gentle wanting more
They whispered of a man at war
Look to your dreams and follow them,
they'll bring you far my new found friend
He smiled a weary borrowed grin
And then he laughed and smiled again
We love this life until it's over
It's then we realize who's our lover
Don't in your haste wait till the end
Today's the day to start to mend
Open up your mind and shout out to the ones you have left out
Let your heart and soul fly free be like the one you want to be
